Report from the 2018 Recognition Dinner

Eric Bruton Receives the Distinguished Service Award

One of our signature events of the year is our Recognition Night. We take this opportunity to honor our local members who have made significant contributions through a lifetime of membership in the ACS, through significant contributions to the Local Section, and to the field of chemistry within our Local Section. This year, we gathered on March 10, at Pastaria in Clayton for our celebration.

Dinner was preceded by a lively social hour. After dinner, current Chair Ben Barth welcomed everyone and recognized the past and present officers of the section in attendance. Ron Purdum and Bill Doub were presented with 50-Year Awards, and Will Ridley was surprised with a Salute to Excellence. The Distinguished Service Award went to Eric Bruton, and Susan Riordan received the Chemical Science and Technology Award. After dinner, the 2016 Chair, Joe Ackerman, gave a rousing after-dinner talk.
